Who We Are
Our Founding Vision
Epostmarks, Inc., formerly PeerConnect, Inc., was conceived in 2002 during the wake of the anthrax attacks on the U.S. Postal Service (USPS). The founders, Adam Grossman and Jason Curtis, initially envisioned the emerging Electronic Postmark (EPM) program as a viable way for the USPS to provide trusted communications for its customers in an increasingly digital world. Epostmarks was born out of a belief that communicating electronically should be as reliable and safe as using the mail. We believe that the USPS and other global posts ought to play a significant role in fulfilling this vision, particularly in email, by leveraging their trusted brands and legal standing.
Our Mission is Twofold, to Provide:
- PostmarkedEmail as a postal-branded and -protected email application
- Other application providers access to the EPM platform upon which PostmarkedEmail is built
PostmarkedEmail: EPM-enabled Email
Analogous to placing a stamp on an envelope, PostmarkedEmail is sold on a per-message basis as a premium class of email. Senders purchase a cryptographic EPM token to place in the header of each outgoing email, proving that the message is authentic and official. Internet Service Providers (ISPs) then detect the tokens to deliver the messages directly to the inbox—instead of a junk, bulk, or spam folder. Our product is integrated with a technology platform that provides standard services contractually agreed upon by receiving ISPs including AOL, Yahoo!, Cox, Time Warner Cable, Comcast, BT, AT&T, and Verizon with new ISPs regularly signing on. PostmarkedEmail is a simple solution built into the existing email infrastructure to address the problems of reliability and safety. A secondary benefit of PostmarkedEmail is improved communication management through differentiation of email types.
Other EPM Applications
Although email is our focus, we believe that applications such as social and professional network messaging, SMS, instant messaging, and eFax will also benefit from the EPM platform. We are committed to the promotion and distribution of the EPM.
